Canon Cine-Servo 50-1000mm T5.0 Overview
The CINE-SERVO 50-1000mm T5.0-8.9 with EF mount from Canon is designed to combine the functionality and form factor of a broadcast, ENG-style-servo zoom lens with the optical precision of a cinema zoom. The lens is designed for use on cinema cameras with Super 35 sized sensors and is suitable for 4K acquisition. With a detachable drive mechanism and support for rod attachment, it is designed to be equally at home whether being used by a solo camera operator or a full production team. The lens features a 20x optical zoom and a focal length range of 50 to 1000mm with a maximum T stop of 5.0 at the wide end. The lens features a built-in 1.5x extender providing a 75 to 1500mm zoom range, capable of supporting 4K resolution.
The lens features 180° of focus rotation for precise focus pulls and is marked in both feet and meters. The detachable drive unit, can be removed and reattached with the zoom in nay position, requiring no re-calibration. It also supports motorized zoom speeds ranging from 1.5 seconds to 180 seconds to zoom throughout the entire range. The zoom control includes a mini-LCD that displays zoom, focus, and iris setting. The lens mount supports electronic signal pass through, supporting EOS lens data management functions. The built-in, 12-pin connector allows you to interface this lens with standard broadcast connectors. The 11-blade iris creates circular out of focus highlights and a natural looking Bokeh.

Lens-to-Camera Metadata Transmission
The lens communicates directly with Cinema EOS camera through the lens interface. This allows lens metadata such as zoom setting and iris to recorded in the camera. Note that a firmware update may be required for proper communications between the lens and the camera.
In addition, the lens features a standard 12-pin broadcast camera interface and can also transmit zoom, focus, and iris data to a camera or other device via this connection
